Intelligent baby gym for home rehabilitation of preterm infants (2013)

Preterm infants are at risk of neurodevelopmental disorders. The CareToy platform aims at promoting an early intervention in the first year of life, augmenting the clinical effectiveness of the therapy while reducing costs. The CareToy system appears as an ecological playground for babies, providing a wide selection of audiovisual stimuli, while accurately recording the infant’s motor activity by means of a variety of sensors distributed around the environment. Collected data are made available to the clinical centre via the Internet, allowing clinicians to adapt the training sessions to patients’ response.
