MASMEC Biomed navigation systems, the only ones made in Italy, differ in application and technology but they share the same operating principle: they are all based on virtual reality and use different imaging sources (CT, MR, US).

    Orion for neurosurgery

In the pre-operative phase it helps surgeons plan the most suitable approach to perform resections or biopsies. During the operation it shows, in real time, the position of the surgical instruments in a virtual environment, which is reconstructed starting from CT or MR images. Hence surgeons can reach deep targets with accuracy and carry out the operation at their best.

    Orion for spinal surgery

It is used to support spinal stabilization procedures in surgery rooms equipped with intraoperative 3D imaging systems. Orion creates a virtual environment which is updated constantly and where several surgical tools are tracked; in this way it gives surgeons an essential support for the correct insertion of vertebral implants. Moreover, Orion allows the reduction of radiation and interventional time.

    Vega

This medical imaging system acquires DICOM images and reconstructs a 3D model of the patient’s anatomy. It allows the differentiation and characterization of organs, tissues and lesions in detail. This device is suitable for diagnostics and pre-interventional purposes as well as for training
