The Da Vinci Skills Simulator offers a virtual environment in which the Da Vinci robot arms are highly faithfully replicated and exercises can be performed in a 3D virtual environment as if you were playing in a video game.

The peculiarity of the Da Vinci Skills Simulator is that, to control the arms in the virtual scene, it uses the same master console that uses surgeons in the operating room.

In Pisa at the EndoCAS Center of the University of Pisa and the Multispecialistic Robotics Center of the Hospital-University of Pisa, the Da Vinci Skills Simulator was used for the first time to assess whether among the medical students there were some with a Innate ability for surgery, demonstrating exceptional levels of manual and psychomotor skills
